Week 5 has come and gone. It was a easy week at the shop. To be honest with you I don't even think we touched the car all week since we didn't race on Saturday at Fremont. That made for a long week actually. After a long boring day at work, it gives me something to look forward to after work, going out to the shop and helpin on the car. But since we were all ready to go on Sunday, there wasn't much to do out there execpt getting the car together that was crashed on the last week of the year last year.
Friday night was American Powersports of Findlay night at ARP, and the Linder Racing team was ready to do battle. I heard that the All Stars and Outlaws rained out early so I figured it would be a pretty stout field of cars. And it was! Chad Kemenah, Brandon Martin, Brock Mayes, and Danny Smith to just name a few was there. I believe Steph drew a 26 for the night. Put Michael on the inside of the 3rd row of the 2nd heat... Which was stacked! Chad started on the pole and ran away with it. Michael had a little trouble in the heat. The wing slider wouldn't move for him so he couldn't make any adjustments to the car during the race which hurt us. Ended up 7th at the end of the 8 lap race. 3rd heat wrapped up and then the skies opened up! I know hard to believe... a weekend and it rains at the track! Story of the year so far. Well they didn't waste much time and called it a night. Good move on their part at ARP. It didn't stop raining over there until
midnight.
Saturday morning I got up and went to work over in Findlay to do Racing World. Which ment I couldn't help on the car in the morning to do Saturday morning maintance. Got to Fremont Speedway around 4:30 for Burns Iron and Metal Night at the Track That Action Built.
Steph drew a pretty good pill for time trials. Got out for time trials and Michael laid down a pretty good lap a 12.53 but everybody else was so close in times that it was only good for 11th fastest. Steven made some changes before the heat race. Put on some different shocks on the rears and made some air pressure changes but thats about it really. Started I believe 5th in the heat and the track was so fast it was a one groove track. Michael got in line and ended up 4th which transfered him to the feature.
Michael lined up in the 9th starting spot in the feature. When the green flew Michael took the 312 J&J to the front. Picking off cars one by one until he got to about 6th. Mike and Mark Keegan put on a pretty good race for a bit, but after a couple laps Mike passed Mark and continued his charge to the front. Yellows really help us as the field started to get strung out and with the yellows bunched them back together and let Michael be right on the bumper of the cars still on the lead lap. Laps where winding down, Mike was working on getting pass Caleb Griffith for the 3rd spot. Well Caleb went for a slide job on a lap car and didn't have him cleared. Caleb spun in turn 4, and luckily for Michael he missed the bottom of 3 and slide up in the middle of 3 and 4 just missing the spinning car of Griffith. Close call as everybody on top of the trailer held their breath!! That moved us up to 3rd with 3 lap cars in between 2nd and 3rd. It was a green and white
together restart and there was no way unless the top two took eachother out that we could have advanced our position. So we ended up 3rd after starting 9th. Not a bad night for the 3-1-2 team.
Next week the team is racing with the Outlaws. Well not exactly. The 410s are a support division for the World of Outlaws Late Models at Attica Raceway Park. Then the team makes the big haul over to Fremont Speedway for Roots Poultry Night. Don't forget to let me know what you think about my blog good, bad, anything doesn't matter let me know what you are thinking! That wraps it up for me this week. Cya at the track!!!
